PYSANKY EGG DYEING                           Instructor: Linda Zwick
A pysanka is a Ukranian Easter egg decorated by using a wax-resist method. Students will learn the basics of this folk art using beeswax, traditional dyes, and a traditional drawing tool (kistka) and will create 2 to 3 decorated eggs during class. An optional take-home commercial kit containing dyes, a kistka, and instructions will be available for $10 at the class for those who want to continue this art form at home.

ALONG THE CHAMA RIVER                    Instructor: Mary Cardin
Let’s paint a unique landscape with a different point of view!  In this vignette, we will paint beautiful foliage, trees, hillside rocks and grasses easily.  We will learn negative painting to create a varied and colorful woodsy scene. This painting is rewarding and so much fun!

WIRE WRAP BEAD BRACELETS (Beginner - Teens & Adults)        Instructor: Molly Hodosko
Create 3 beaded wire wrapped bracelets with clasp using a single wire and multiple beads.  Supply fee includes various beads and various colors of craft wire. Various base metal and stone beads available at an additional fee.

HOW CAN MATH INFLUENCE YOUR ART?                  Instructor: Britton Donharl
Using mixed media techniques, develop a system to take some of the pressure off creating. We will explore drawing, painting, and tossing dice to creating a small, finished artwork.

CANVAS & COCKTAILS: Big Sky Over Adobe                                                   Instructor:  Susanne Harrison
Hosted by UnQuarked: The Wine Room in Central Park Square.  Enjoy creating a vibrant acrylic painting at this 2-hour basic guided painting class for beginners or experienced painters. Mix your own wonderful colors and apply them to the canvas with the help of local artist Susanne Harrison.  April’s class subject: “Big Sky Over Adobe”.  Sign up through Fuller Lodge Art Center.  Wine and snacks are available for purchase at the counter.

BLOCK CUTTING: Printmaking                                  Instructor:  Susanne Harrison
Use an image provided at class or sketch your own simple design.  We will transfer the design to the linoleum, gauge and cut and gradually print in multiple colors.  Images can be used for greeting cards or framed and hung on your wall.
*Materials include: 4x5 Linoleum Sheets, Carbon Paper, Card Stock Paper, 8x12 Glass or Plexiglas, Brayer, Lino Cutters, Handles and Linozips.   If you need material’s, they will be available to use during class for a $15 fee.

LANDSCAPES WITH MANY MEDIUMS ON PAPER             Instructor: Karen Trythall
Create compelling landscape compositions in many mediums. Work with linear pencil, ink and watercolor.  Move to pencil shading, eraser drawing, charcoals, chalk pastels, oil pastels and acrylic painting on paper. Students are encouraged to create and bring small sketches, photographs, or other imagery as inspiration for their exercises. Materials to bring: 2 heavy weight sketch books with cotton paper: one small and one large, gum eraser (the kind that looks like a caramel not the grey kind that can be shaped into tiny sculptures)

INTRODUCTION TO SCRATCHBOARD (Adults & Teens)            Instructor: Heather Ward
Come play with knives.  In this introductory class on Scratchboard, we will cover pre-made boards and the many tools and techniques to create intricate drawings. Topics include working white-on-black, the variety of tools and the effects they create, fixing mistakes, adding color, and preserving a finished piece.
*Bring a 5”x7” black and white photo to work from, or choose from several available.

ADVANCED SCRATCHBOARD                                               Instructor: Heather Ward
Learn advanced techniques of scratchboard art, a great sequel to the beginners’ class. Topics include preparing reference images, working in layers, use of airbrush and friskets working on large and miniature boards, cutting and repairing boards, and advanced tool and color techniques.
*Bring an 8”x10” black and white photo to work from, or choose from several available.  *Class materials fee is optional if you have materials from the intro class.  Boards will be extra ($10 for 8"x10").

Everyone loves birds and they are fun to paint!  You will learn to paint an impressionistic garden background quickly and easily then enjoy painting the detailed birds and clothespins.  There is a lot to learn while having fun!

CLASS POLICIES:

Registration: You can call the Fuller Lodge Art Center at (505) 662-1635 to register for any class or you can stop in anytime during our business hours which are Monday through Saturday, from 10am to 4pm.

Class Minimum: Early registration is highly recommended. Every class needs a minimum of 4 students. If the class does not meet that requirement within three days of its scheduled start date, the class will be cancelled.

Payment: Payment is expected in full upon registration. If you fail to pay when signing up, we cannot guarantee your seat in the class.

Class Cancellation: If a class has been cancelled, all students will receive a full refund.

Personal Cancellation:  If you call to cancel no later than one week prior to the start of class, the Fuller Lodge Art Center will reimburse you your registration fee, less $10. For any cancellations made during the week the class is scheduled (Less than 7 days prior), we cannot offer a refund.

Annual Class Exhibit: All students are encouraged to enter their artwork into our annual class show which takes place at the beginning of each year. There is no fee to participate. You can decide which pieces you would like to have on display and you can choose to sell it or mark it as Not For Sale. You do need to fill out the application (just so we know what's coming in for the exhibit) which can be found in our Calls for Artists on the Home Page as well as under the "Create" tab under Adult Classes.
